Programs

Programs arranged around real community needs.

KESSOI brings its work into three clear tracks so members, partners, and communities can quickly understand where each initiative belongs and how it connects to long-term impact.

What We Do

8 Programs. One Goal: Economic Freedom for Every Kenyan.

From Nairobi's trading centres to rural farms to the diaspora, here's how KESSOI turns solidarity into real, lasting prosperity.

SACCO Growth

SACCO Awareness & Financial Inclusion

Many Kenyans avoid SACCOs because of bad experiences or false information. We run community dialogues, radio campaigns, and plain-language education that replace fear with understanding and bring members back to cooperative finance with eyes open.

Enterprise

Capacity Before Capital - Entrepreneur Academy

No one gets helped into a loan here without first getting equipped to use it well. We teach budgeting, business planning, loan management, and risk thinking before any money changes hands.

Jobs & Incomes

MSME Growth & Economic Empowerment

For mama mbogas, jua kali artisans, salon owners, and every hustler in Nairobi trying to turn a small business into a stable livelihood, we offer business coaching, market connections, bookkeeping basics, and digital tools that make good businesses great ones.

Agribusiness

Agriculture, Food Security & Agribusiness

Farming is not just a rural concern - it feeds Nairobi’s tables and employs millions across our supply chains. We organize farmers into cooperatives, teach value addition, and link them to better markets so harvest time means real income, not loss.

Youth

Education, Skills & Youth Enterprise

For young people in Nairobi who want more than a job waiting to happen, we run SACCO and entrepreneurship clubs, financial literacy for students and recent graduates, digital skills training, and mentorship programmes that turn potential into income-generating activity.

Welfare

Community Health & Social Protection

A medical emergency should not wipe out a family’s savings or push them into a debt spiral. We help communities set up SACCO-based health emergency funds, navigate health insurance options, and plan financially for health shocks.

Rights & Voice

Human Rights, Social Justice & Citizen Power

Economic justice starts with knowing your rights. We run community dialogues on economic rights, gender equality, and civic power, especially for women, persons with disabilities, and historically excluded groups in Nairobi who deserve a full seat at the decision-making table.

Governance

Governance, Leadership & Stronger Institutions

The reason many SACCOs fail is weak leadership, not weak members. We train Board members, committee leaders, and SACCO managers in transparent governance, risk management, ethical leadership, and strategic planning.
